Jacob Ortega: Hey there, folks. My name’s Jacob Ortega. I’m the lead solution engineer here at Lydonia. One of the biggest things I’ve heard over the last couple of months is: What is agentic automation? What are agents? How does AI fit into the broader picture of our AI strategy?

I think the best way we can talk about this is with a simple analogy. Let’s jump into it.

The easiest way to display these concepts is to think about an agent like a vehicle driving towards our business goals. A vehicle is made up of multiple components that allow us to control it. We can think about unattended automation like the engine, which is the processing capacity allowing us to take action in our workflows.

Most people are familiar with ChatGPT and some sort of Copilot interface. We can think about that like the dashboard and the actual controls of the vehicle, allowing us to interface, tune, and provide context and inputs to the agents themselves.

We think about the wheels and suspension of the vehicle like the tools and contexts, which allow us to ultimately control and specialize for specific needs. They provide us with the individual capabilities and tools for the subprocesses our agents need to execute.

When you think about your enterprise, we can envision a fleet of agents, all with their own purposes and specialized tooling. We can orchestrate them to provide seamless execution, minimizing human input and driving towards full end-to-end processing.
