to Explore What’s Possible

One of Lydonia’s financial services customers was struggling to keep up with the demands of anti-money laundering compliance. While they had automated portions of their transaction monitoring process, handling exceptions still required extensive manual work. Investigators sifted through multiple systems, gathered customer and transaction data, validated against government watchlists, and compiled reports.

These time-consuming steps added up to more than 21,000 hours annually, the equivalent of 10 full-time employees, slowing suspicious activity reporting and increasing compliance risk.

Lydonia introduced AI automation enhanced with agentic AI. Unlike traditional automation, which follows predefined rules, agentic AI is dynamic. It enables AI agents to independently gather and consolidate data from multiple sources, understand the context of each alert, and take action, whether that’s clearing the transaction, escalating it for further review, or requesting additional information with minimal human input.

The agent was operational in just over a week, integrating seamlessly into the institution’s compliance workflows. Immediately, it began handling alerts in real time, producing accurate, complete case files in minutes instead of hours. Manual work dropped from 21,000 hours to 3,000, a 7x reduction, freeing analysts to focus on complex, high risk investigations.

As the system proved its accuracy, additional processes like risk summarization and likelihood scoring were automated as well. The result: $1.3M in annual savings, faster SAR submissions, and stronger AML/KYC compliance

For the compliance team, the work became more strategic and impactful. And for the institution, it means a smarter, faster, and more resilient defense against financial crime.
